Lapping is a machining operation, in which two surfaces are rubbed together with an abrasive between them, by hand movement or by way of a machine.

Last year,Y&B introduced four sets of lapping machines for wedge of gate valve.

This lapping tool provides the desired surface roughness on the wedges considerably quicker than conventional methods of wedge grinding.For small size wedges,it can lap several pieces together.

Lapping can be used to obtain a specific surface roughness.A good roughness can prolong the service life of the valve.Also, good roughness can make the valve better sealed,the leakage is greatly reduced.
